The arc of human expression in song is vast. For its final concert of the season, the Manhattan School of Music Chorale will trace a part of it with a program spanning millennia and cultures, featuring music as varied as Lauridsen’s “Les Chansons des Roses,” Schubert’s Mass in G, and Cook’s “They Are Mother."
The large forces of the MSM Chorale will be set in relief not only by the smaller Chamber Choir but also by a piece featuring the treble voice of Chorale and another featuring the tenor and bass voices.

At his first inauguration, with the country facing Civil War, President Lincoln appealed to all to look to the “better angels of our nature”. He called on our inclinations of empathy, self- control, and a sense of moral compass. Ember's 2025-2026 season, entitled Our Better Angels, focuses on times of great upheaval in America during which such enlightened leadership resulted in some of our most shining endeavors.
The New Frontier, in particular, is inspired by how we used our skills, training and courage to take humankind's first steps in outer space.
